Privacy Statement Detailution
Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 2026
Detailution (“the App”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what data is processed when you use Detailution, how it is used, and what rights you have under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other applicable data protection laws. By using the App, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this policy.
1. Overview
Detailution is a mobile application that provides dilution ratio calculations for car care products. The App is designed to function without requiring you to create an account or share personal information directly with us. We do not perform automated decision-making or profiling.
2. Data Controller
The developer of Detailution acts as the data controller for any data processing performed directly through the App. Third-party providers such as Google may independently act as data controllers for their own services.
For questions or requests regarding your data, you can reach us at info@1314media.nl.
3. Data We Do Not Directly Collect
Detailution is designed with privacy in mind. We do not directly collect or store personal information on our own servers. Specifically:
- We do not require account creation or login.
- We do not directly collect, store, or transmit personal information such as your name, email address, phone number, or precise location.
- We do not operate servers that receive your data.
- We do not sell or share your personal data with advertisers or data brokers.
However, third-party services integrated into the App (such as Google AdMob) may process limited device data as described in Section 5.
4. Local Data Storage
The App stores certain data locally on your device using SQLite. This data remains on your device and is not transmitted to us or any third party. The locally stored data includes:
- Your preferred measurement system and volume unit.
- Favorite products and recently used products.
- Custom products and dilution ratios you create.
- App settings, such as your ad-free purchase status.
All locally stored data is removed when you uninstall the App.
5. Advertising (Google AdMob)
The App displays advertisements through Google AdMob. As part of serving ads, Google may process certain device data, including:
- Device identifiers (such as the advertising ID).
- General location information based on IP address.
- App usage data and ad interaction events.
This processing is governed by Google’s own privacy policies. You can review Google’s Privacy Policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy.
5.1 Consent in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland
For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, consent for personalized advertising is requested through an in-app consent flow that complies with the IAB Transparency & Consent Framework (TCF) and Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP). You can review or change your choices at any time:
- Through the privacy settings within the App.
- Through your device’s advertising settings.
5.2 Removing Ads
Users who purchase the “Remove Ads” in-app purchase will no longer see advertisements within the App. Any ongoing data processing by Google related to past ad delivery is subject to Google’s own privacy policies and retention settings.
6. In-App Purchases
The App offers an optional “Remove Ads” in-app purchase. Purchase transactions are handled entirely by the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. We do not receive, store, or have access to your payment information, billing address, or account credentials. Only the purchase status (ad-free) is stored locally on your device to unlock the ad-free experience.
7. Third-Party Services
The App integrates the following third-party services, each of which may process limited device data as part of its own operations:
- Google AdMob — for serving advertisements.
- Apple App Store — for distribution and in-app purchases on iOS.
- Google Play Store — for distribution and in-app purchases on Android.
Each of these services operates under its own privacy policy. We encourage you to review their policies for further information on how they handle data.
8. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)
Where personal data is processed in connection with the App, we and our third-party providers rely on the following legal bases under Article 6 of the GDPR:
- Consent — for personalized advertising and any non-essential processing, collected through Google’s consent mechanisms and your device settings.
- Legitimate interests — for operating, maintaining, and improving the App and for supporting non-personalized advertising.
- Contractual necessity — for processing in-app purchases through the relevant app store platform.
9. International Data Transfers
Some of the third-party services integrated into the App (such as Google AdMob, the Apple App Store, and the Google Play Store) may transfer and process data outside of the European Economic Area, including in the United States. These providers rely on legally recognized transfer mechanisms, such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs), to ensure an adequate level of data protection.
10. Data Retention
Because Detailution does not collect personal data on its own servers, we do not retain personal data. Data stored locally on your device remains until you delete it within the App or uninstall the App. Data processed by third parties is retained according to their respective privacy policies.
11. Your Rights Under the GDPR
If you are located in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Right of access — to obtain confirmation of whether personal data about you is being processed and to access that data.
- Right to rectification — to have inaccurate data corrected.
- Right to erasure — to request deletion of your personal data (“right to be forgotten”).
- Right to restriction of processing — to limit how your data is processed.
- Right to data portability — to receive your data in a structured, commonly used format where applicable.
- Right to object — to object to processing based on legitimate interests or direct marketing.
- Right to withdraw consent — to withdraw consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.
- Right to lodge a complaint — with your local data protection authority. In the Netherlands, this is the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens (autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl).
Because the App does not directly collect personal data, most of these rights apply primarily to the third-party services described above. You can manage advertising preferences through your device settings and contact Google or your app store directly for requests related to their data processing. For any questions about your rights, contact us at info@1314media.nl.
12. Rights for Users Outside the EEA
If you are located outside of the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, you may have similar or additional rights under your local data protection laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) for California residents. To exercise such rights, please contact us using the details below.
13. Children’s Privacy
Detailution is intended for users aged 16 and older. The App is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly process personal data from children under the age of 16. If you believe that a child has provided data through a third-party service while using the App, please contact us so we can take appropriate steps in coordination with the relevant third-party provider.
14. Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect any data processed in connection with the App. Because data is primarily stored locally on your device, the security of that data also depends on the security of your device. We recommend keeping your device’s operating system up to date and using a screen lock or other device-level security measures.
15. Data Deletion
All app data is stored locally on your device. Uninstalling Detailution removes this data entirely. Because there is no account or server-side data, no further action is required to delete data held by us. For data held by third-party services (such as Google AdMob or the relevant app store), please refer to their respective privacy policies and use the deletion mechanisms they provide.
16. Cookies and Similar Technologies
The Detailution mobile App does not use browser cookies. However, third-party SDKs (such as Google AdMob) may use device identifiers, local storage, or similar technologies to deliver and measure advertisements. You can control these through your device’s advertising settings.
If you visit the Detailution website, the website may use cookies or similar technologies as described in the cookie notice provided on the site.
17. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, third-party services, or applicable laws. Changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Material changes will be communicated within the App where appropriate. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
